The central shield of pretense is the motif on the reverse of the one centavo
piece struck by Aguinaldo at Malolos just prior to the 1899 Philippine Republic.

Upper Left Quarter
Prehistoric gold coin, now know as the Piloncito
struck previous to the arrival of the Spaniards.

Upper Right Quarter
Principal feature of the 18th century coins issued by the Sultan of Sulu.

Bottom Left Quarter
Spanish pillar dollar which circulated extensively  in the Philippines.

Bottom Right Quarter
The Conant currency, then in use when the PNAS was founded.
